01 — Manifesto

We are not a school.
We are not a startup.
We are a kampung for builders.

  1. i.

    Knowledge is bahasa pertama. Whatever your stack, your background, your degree — if you can teach it, you belong. We learn out loud, in the open, in English and in Bahasa.

  2. ii.

    Free, forever, for every Malaysian. No paywalls. No "premium tier." No upsell to a bootcamp. Talent in Penang, Sabah, and Kelantan deserves the same seat as talent in KL.

  3. iii.

    Practitioners over pundits. Sessions are run by people who ship. If you wrote it, deployed it, or scaled it — you have something to teach. If you only wrote a deck, please come learn.

  4. iv.

    AI is a tool, not a religion. We support Malaysia's AI ambitions with a clear head: useful systems, honest evaluations, local language, local problems. No hype, no hollow demos.

  5. v.

    Wira are made by other wira. Every member is expected to lift another. The next-gen wira is not the loudest in the room — it's the one who opens the door for the next.

Open study circles

Weekly small-group study sessions on real-world topics — distributed systems, applied ML, security, design systems. Live, recorded, and archived publicly so anyone can catch up later.

Practitioner residencies

Senior engineers and designers spend a quarter mentoring rising builders. No slides, no certification — just open code reviews, design crits, and the kind of feedback that took us a decade to find.

AI literacy for all

Hands-on workshops in Bahasa Melayu and English, made for teachers, public servants, and small-business owners. Aligned with Malaysia's National AI Roadmap — but written by builders, not bureaucrats.

We run public sandboxes — vector DBs, model gateways, document pipelines — so a student in Sandakan has the same tools as a senior engineer in Bangsar. Bring an idea, get a workspace.

03 — Mission

A Malaysian-built community
for a Malaysian-built AI future.

Malaysia has the talent. We always have. What we've sometimes lacked is the connective tissue — the unglamorous, weekly, in-person and online practice of meeting other builders, sharing what we know, and honestly admitting what we don't.

Xwira exists to be that connective tissue. We believe Malaysia's AI ambitions cannot be carried by ministries, MNCs, or VC term sheets alone. They will be carried by a generation of wira — local engineers, designers, teachers, and founders who have chosen to share what they learn instead of hoarding it.

We are aligned with Malaysia's national digital and AI agendas, independent of any one organisation, and accountable to a single group: the Malaysian builder who shows up.

We don't run sign-up forms or send drip emails. Drop into a study circle, watch a session, or — better — propose one of your own. Three ways to start:

    Sit in

    Open sessions are listed weekly. Just turn up — online or in person.

  2. B

    Teach something

    Anything you've shipped, debugged, or scaled. We'll help you prep — no slides required.

  3. C

    Host a chapter

    Penang, JB, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, your university — if there's no chapter near you, you start it.
